LIMS is anticipated to catalyze export growth and ensure national food security. In the face of escalating climate challenges, the system will play a pivotal role by alerting farmers to climate changes and providing crucial information on fertilizer, water, and spray requirements for agricultural lands. Furthermore, LIMS aims to empower farmers to increase crop production on low-producing lands, revitalizing unirrigated and neglected areas for sustainable agricultural development.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, has officially launched the Land Information and Management System (LIMS), marking a groundbreaking milestone as the first of its kind in Pakistan. This innovative system is poised to transform the agricultural sector which nearly contributes 25% to the GDP.
