National IT seminar held in Islamabad

National Information Technology Seminar was held on July 20, 2023 in Islamabad with the aim of aligning the endeavors of various stakeholders and establishing a favorable environment for the advancement of IT and digitalization in Pakistan. The occasion also marked the soft launch of multiple IT initiatives. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif graced the event as the chief guest, while Chief of the Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir honored the occasion as the guest of honor. Moreover, local and international IT companies, as well as academic institutions, applauded the government’s genuine commitment to transforming the IT domain, accomplished through collaborative efforts via the SIFC platform.

Inauguration of Land Information & Management System (LIMS)

LIMS is anticipated to catalyze export growth and ensure national food security. In the face of escalating climate challenges, the system will play a pivotal role by alerting farmers to climate changes and providing crucial information on fertilizer, water, and spray requirements for agricultural lands. Furthermore, LIMS aims to empower farmers to increase crop production on low-producing lands, revitalizing unirrigated and neglected areas for sustainable agricultural development.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, accompanied by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, has officially launched the Land Information and Management System (LIMS), marking a groundbreaking milestone as the first of its kind in Pakistan. This innovative system is poised to transform the agricultural sector which nearly contributes 25% to the GDP.

National seminar on Food Security held Jinnah at Convention Centre Islamabad

National Seminar on Food Security was held at Jinnah Convention Centre Islamabad on 10 July 2023. Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Prime Minister highlighted the importance of agriculture for the economy of Pakistan and the landmark steps being undertaken by the government to exploit full potential in agriculture and other domains under the ambit of the recently launched SIFC. Moreover, General Syed Asim Munir, COAS attended the seminar as Guest of Honour. Chief of Army Staff also addressed the participants and assured the people of Pakistan & the government of the Army’s full support for all the initiatives being initiated under the ambit of SIFC including today’s launched Green Pakistan Initiative
